The boys basketball team is 2-0 to start their new season and look great. Despite many preseason injuries, they have taken down two rivals, Parkersburg Catholic and Notre Dame. The Irish are led by returning starter Jay Allen Turner, who is now entering his sophomore season. Jonathan McComas also steps up for the Irish as one of four seniors on the team. He shares this season with his other three seniors, Farris Murad, Alex Fizer, and Billy Ford. Also, entering the starting lineup for Irish this year, includes sophomores Jeff Reynolds and Gio Cinco who look to pick up the pace this year. Rounding out the lineup are freshmen Jonah Ball and Max Wilcox. Dealt a bad card in the preseason, the Irish battle injuries tough. They lost four out of the top eight guys for a while, and they are slow getting back. Still out for the team is senior Farris Murad (foot - at least five weeks), junior Kelan Swan (foot - at least one week), and sophomore Hunter Perry (concussion - TBD). We hope to see the irish in full power soon and wish good luck to them.
