Athlete of the Week (Week 1)

Ella Green is kicking off our annual athlete of the week this year. Ella is a midfielder for the CCHS Girls soccer team. She earned this title as Athlete of the Week from her performances at the East Fairmont and Elkins games. Being Ashley Green’s little sister is some big shoes to live up to, but Little Green is off to a great start in accomplishing this. Great start to your freshman year and good luck with the season! Go Irish!

Athlete of the Week (Week 2)

Owen Snyder is commencing this week’s athlete of the week. Owen is part of the CCHS Boys Soccer team and plays as the central defensive midfielder. The team traveled to Winfield and Shady Springs this past week for 2 away games. His performance in these games earned Owen the title he received as he completed 6 assists in the game against Shady Springs and 1 goal in the game against Winfield. He has a promising high school career, good luck to the boys this season! Go Irish!

Athlete of the Week (Week 3)

Ben Carew is our Week 3 Athlete of the Week. Ben is part of the CCHS boys golf team and they participated in 2 matches last week. Ben was a medalist in the match against Nitro, Scott, Sissonville, and Logan and he shot a 37. The golf team finished second in a match at Big Bend with a shot of 39 from Ben. This year has been looking great for the golf team, good job with your accomplishments, Ben. Keep up the good work. Good luck Irish!

Athlete of the Week (Week 4)

Bella Boggs is Charleston Catholics week 4 athlete of the week!! Remember the name folks. She has been dominate for the Irish Cross Country Team this year and continues to perform. Bella helped lead the girls cross country team this past weekend to a 2nd place finish in the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in Mineral Wells. She herself had a 3rd place finish. Only being a sophomore, she is already a top runner in the state and continues to elevate her game. Good Luck to Bella the rest of the year as she looks to be back and compete for a state title. GO IRISH!!

Athlete of the Week (week 5)

Will Gruce is this week’s Charleston Catholic athlete of the week. Will Gruce is a sophomore who was the Single A state runner up his freshman year. He participated in the Region 3 golf tournament this past weekend, and shot a 35 in the front and a 42 in the back giving him an overall score of 77 total. Wishing the Golf team good luck at states!!!!!!

Athlete of the Week (Week 6)

Gio Cinco is this week's athlete of the week. He is a captain for the Charleston Catholic Boys Soccer team, and won two state titles with the team in the past. Although he plays as an outside defender, he scored the Irish's only goal in their game against Fairmont Senior off of a header from a corner kick. He also led the team in a nine to one victory against Webster. Good luck to the boys soccer team this week, and go Irish!

Athlete of the Week (Week 7)

Hope Linton is this week's athlete of the week. She’s the libero for the Charleston Catholic Volleyball team. She’s played for the varsity team for all three years. Hope started the season on the right side of the back row where she secured 11 kills and 7 assists. She has now transitioned to the teams starting libero, and has helped her team by winning 127 digs, 12 aces, and 144 serve receive passes. The volleyball team is heading toward the end of their season, and gearing up for postseason play. Good luck to the Volleyball team, and go Irish!

Athlete of the Week (Week 8)

Our Athlete of the Week is Lily Patnoe! She is part of the CCHS swim team, and is preparing for the upcoming National Catholic Schools Meet after qualifying in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke, 200 Medley Relay, 200 Individual Medley, and 100 Butterfly. Last weekend, she finished 1st in the 100 yard breaststroke and 200 freestyle. Good luck with the season and keep up the great work, Lily! Go Irish!

This week’s athlete of the week is Mary Rushworth. This is Mary’s second year as a forward for the CCHS Girls Basketball Team. Mary jumped into basketball after a very successful season on the Girls Soccer Team as the keeper. This season, she averaged sixteen points per game and has put up four hundred sixty points in her career, which makes her the team leader. Even though she’s only been on the team for two years, she’s proved herself as a powerhouse and started both years for the Irish. Good luck to Mary and the team in their next games and go Irish!
